For six-year-old Whitley, illness has always been a part of life. When she was just a few days old, her pediatrician noticed that Whitley wasn’t gaining enough weight. Her weight was alarming enough for the pediatrician to recommend that they go to the hospital.

Whitley was diagnosed with a respiratory disorder that affects her lungs and digestive system. This was why she wasn’t gaining any weight. Sadly, the challenges would keep coming. But even though she’s had two hospitalizations, Whitley has managed to stay positive despite her diagnosis. It was during her second hospitalization that she learned she would receive her wish: to be a zookeeper!
