If you had told me 10 years ago—hell, even five—that I’d be writing this as a Democrat, I would’ve laughed you out of the room. I was a TEA Party guy who helped birth the MAGA movement. I was fighting for liberty. I thought all of us were.
Turns out, we were lighting a fuse.
I left the Republican Party when it became the Trump Party—and when I became appalled by the monster I helped create. I’ve spent the last seven years as an independent, trying to figure out where the heck I belonged. But this week, I formally joined the Democratic Party, because it’s the only major party left that’s committed to truth, democracy, and the rule of law. It’s my new political home.
And not a moment too soon. This country is on the brink. We all know it. A civil war of culture, power, and reality itself is already being waged on digital battlefields. The hot kind feels almost inevitable unless we act...
