Every young person deserves the chance to find their voice and the tools to make it heard. That's where CLARIFY comes in – and where you can make a difference ([link removed]) .
Since 2015, CLARIFY has been transforming young lives by connecting NYC youth from low-income communities with professional journalists at City Limits, one of NYC's oldest local nonprofit newsrooms.
What began as an after-school program in one Bronx high school has grown into a comprehensive initiative reaching all five boroughs and impacting over 600 young people. Through CLARIFY, students develop:
* Writing and communication skills
* Digital media literacy and technical capabilities
* Research and critical thinking abilities
* Confidence and public speaking experience
* Leadership skills and community awareness
Our approach works. CLARIFY alumni are graduating high school, enrolling in college, and becoming engaged citizens. Many have gone on to pursue careers in journalism and media, bringing vital diverse perspectives to newsrooms across the country.
Now, we need your support to reach more students and provide them with long-term mentorship and academic support starting this summer. Our goal is to raise $7,000 by June 30th to fully fund the program.

* Expand our internship opportunities for 10th-11th graders
* Provide more paid freelance reporting positions for program graduates
* Deepen our mentorship network
* Serve more youth from public housing and low-income communities
