This bill is a “disgusting abomination.” That’s their words, not mine, John.

That is what the GOP is continuing to push through in Washington as they work to ensure that 3 million Americans lose access to food assistance, cut $260 billion from SNAP, and add $4 trillion to our national debt in order to give handouts to billionaires.

You read that right: Republicans are stealing from my constituents, from our communities, to give tax breaks to the wealthiest people in our country. This bill is callous, cruel, and careless.

Listen, I don't know if there's a flash sale on beach houses, Botox, or private jets. I don’t know what the sense of urgency is here that they think they need to take money from people who are veterans, seniors, children, people with disabilities, and more – people who are relying on these services, not as a line item in a budget, but as a lifeline – in order to hoard money for the top 1%. But these cuts are going to devastate communities, and we need to continue fighting back.
