The fascist playbook is nearly always the same:

• Stoke fear and hatred of an “other” to divide and distract.
• Twist the law to punish opponents.
• Use lies and spectacle to fake strength.

Trump is checking every box. And last night -- against a backdrop of accelerating ICE raids, activists “disappeared” by masked men, and continued defiance of court orders -- he ran two more plays straight from that playbook.

First, he reinstated the Muslim Ban -- a racist, fear-driven policy that has nothing to do with safety or security. He’s using a tragedy in Colorado unrelated to any country on the list to justify harassment of Black, brown, and Muslim communities he’s long targeted. This isn’t about vetting. It’s about scapegoating. It’s racism, codified.

Then, he ordered a sham Justice Department investigation into Joe Biden -- a petty, vengeful move meant to send a chilling message: If Trump doesn’t like you, he’ll try to destroy you, and there’s no one left to stop him.

So let’s just spell out what’s happening as simply as we can:

Trump is framing immigrants, people of color, and his political rivals as threats -- threats only a strongman like him can “solve.”

And next Saturday, he’ll try selling that lie with tanks and troops in the streets on his birthday. A made-for-TV military parade designed to cast him as America’s last hope -- a dictator in waiting.

But Trump isn’t the solution. He’s the threat.

That's why we're working with partners and local activists to organize No Kings Day on June 14 -- a massive, nationwide rejection of Trump’s authoritarian power grab. Fascists have their playbook. We have ours. We fight back by showing up, speaking out, and standing together with courage, with clarity, and with numbers too big to ignore.

There are millions of people right now -- parents, teachers, workers, judges, lawmakers -- who want to resist but don’t yet feel brave enough. No Kings Day is our message to them: We’re here. We’re fighting. And we’ve got your back when you step up to fight, too.

This movement is bigger than Trump. And if we rise together, he can’t defeat us.
