Friend --
Grab your lunch and join us today at 2:00 pm ET for a
conversation with Black women in the labor movement. We’ll be
unpacking what the current pandemic and uprising means for Black women
in labor.

We are over three months into a
global pandemic but also a historic economic pain. Black women now are
facing extraordinary levels of unemployment.
- Black
women are more than 30% more likely to be out of work during the
pandemic than white men.
- Black
women are more likely to be working as essential workers – in
conditions that are unfair, unsafe, and without premium pay or in many
cases protections like paid sick days or family leave.
All of this is happening in the
midst of a child care system that is not set up for this period, and
may not be around to come back on the other side.
It’s time to shine a light—Black
women ARE essential.
