Action Needed: Protect Renewable Energy Tax Credits

From United Women in Faith

UWF are calling on you to take action to protect renewable energy tax credits that benefit our communities and support our mission work. The House reconciliation bill, H.R.1, passed modifications to energy tax credits that would dismantle critical incentives for renewable energy projects.
Key Aspects of the Bill We're Trying to Stop:

  • Repealing or warping energy tax credits that faith communities rely on to invest in renewable energy projects.
  • Eliminating the Direct Pay provision that helps non-profit like churches and faith-based organizations access these credits (like the Missouri Conference used for solar power).

Why This Matters:

  • Renewable energy tax credits have created hundreds of thousands of good-paying jobs and driven billions in private investment
  • These credits help faith communities invest in renewable energy projects, reduce operating costs, and allocate savings towards mission work
