Dear Sister District DC/VA Volunteers,
We are seeing the power of activism right now in our country. We've seen it in the protests against police violence, which have sparked discussions and a push for change. We saw it on Monday in the halls of the Supreme Court, where the rights of LGBTQ people were protected and upheld after a long fight. Activists have been working for years to combat structural racism, as well as discrimination against the LGBTQ community, and as we march toward November, our chapter will continue to do our part.
On Tuesday, June 23rd, we'll be hosting a Jeopardy-inspired fundraiser for our candidate, Jonathan Kassa. Early money is crucial in state-level elections, and your dollar can go a long way by paying for campaign staff, literature, and even basic things like office supplies that a team needs to keep going. We are asking for a minimum $10 donation to attend, and you can donate here. We'll be holding the fundraiser through Zoom, so please register here beforehand. To find out more about Jonathan and where he stands on the most pressing issues on all our minds, check out his Twitter!
We also have our weekly phonebank today! We hope you'll join us if you can, we'll be having them every Wednesday.
Be well, and stay safe!
