Dear John,
On June 6, 1944, more than 160,000 Allied troops landed on the heavily fortified coastline of northern France called Normandy.
Nearly half of those troops were Americans. And as they entered into battle, they understood that Germany posed a significant threat to the freedom our nation represented.
They also understood that they were walking into a hornet’s nest and that they may not walk out.
Yet, they went willingly, fought bravely and in the end, stopped Nazi Germany and the evil it stood for.
Today, we remember D-Day, the sacrifices that were made and the freedoms that were preserved.
Watch Lt. Gen. (Ret.) William G. (Jerry) Boykin share his thoughts on D-Day and why it’s important to memorialize the sacrifices made by our service members.

In 2019, we won a victory at the U.S. Supreme Court for the Bladensburg Peace Cross that saved the monument from certain removal or destruction and preserved the memories of the 49 service members engraved upon it.
But the Supreme Court’s decision did more than that, it also extended to memorials beyond Bladensburg and ensured that they would stand for generations to come.
Take Advantage of Our $500,000 Challenge Grant Protect Religious Freedom in the Military
At First Liberty, one of our greatest honors is to stand alongside current service members and fight for their right to live and serve according to their beliefs.
No one should lose their constitutional freedoms when they enlist in the military.
Over the course of the last year, we’ve won key victories for our Navy SEALs and for Chaplain Trubey.
As a result of our SEALs victory, the Navy has implemented new procedures for reviewing religious accommodation requests and restored more than 4,300 threatened careers to good standing.
And because of Chaplain Trubey’s brave stand for faith, VA chaplains will not serve under the threat of censorship when they deliver faith-based messages.
These wins were only possible because of your support. You are the reason that these service members can continue to serve according to their beliefs.
