Barbara supported Dr. Shirley Weber’s original “Use of Force” bill, while Todd Gloria avoided taking a position until the police union weakened this ground-breaking legislation.

Barbara supported a truly independent police review commission years ago, while Todd Gloria, you guessed it, supported a ballot measure to create the commission only after the police union withdrew their opposition.

Todd Gloria now supports “ending mass surveillance,” but fails to mention that he was a cheerleader who helped negotiate the so-called Smart Streetlights program that’s been criticized by privacy advocates.
That’s the difference between being a leader and a follower.
