Tell Congress: Protect Head Start Amid Funding ThreatsOn April 11, multiple outlets broke news that President Trump’s proposed Fiscal Year 2026 budget – which is expected to be released in the very near future – entirely defunds Head Start and Early Head Start, a move that would be catastrophic for the millions of Americans who rely on it.
This proposed threat to such programs is beyond alarming. However, the President’s budget is solely a proposal – and only members of Congress have the power to determine funding levels for such programs, like Head Start.
