When our investigator went undercover last year at the Manning Beef slaughter facility in California, even we were shocked at how cruelly the cows were treated. Among the incidents captured were cows being butchered while showing signs of consciousness, a downed dairy cow subjected to repeated electric prodding, and others shot multiple times with a captive bolt gun. In the wake of this investigation, Animal Outlook is calling for cruelty charges against the individuals and the business responsible for this abuse.

Investigations like these are so critical because they are the only tool the public has to catch a glimpse of what actually happens in industrial animal agriculture. With the meat industry more committed than ever to pushing marketing narratives centered around the ''humane'' and ''sustainable'' treatment of animals, your support of AO's investigations is a great way to hold these corporations accountable when cruelty becomes a part of their business model.
