First, new research has found that the abortion pill – mifepristone – is at least 22 times more dangerous than the FDA currently recognizes. Researchers conducted a much larger study than the FDA has ever evaluated and found that nearly 11 percent of women who undergo chemical abortions experience a medical emergency, such as infection or hemorrhage.
John, this is the most significant research on the abortion pill since the FDA approved it nearly 25 years ago. In the wake of this data release (which was conducted by our partners at the Ethics and Public Policy Center), HHS Secretary Kennedy ordered a “top-to-bottom review of all the available data on mifepristone,” signaling the most significant step the Trump Administration has taken toward restoring common-sense maternal safeguards (and, God willing, ultimately withdrawing approval of mifepristone altogether). |
