Well folks,
If you’re a subscriber, you might have noticed the importance we’ve placed on municipal elections these last few months. And some Democrats have asked why we've put so much emphasis on these races.
Well, this week, city officials are transforming our state.
Tulsa Mayor Monroe Nichols announced a $100 million trust partnered with the City of Tulsa as part of a reparations plan.
The Trust will help provide descendants of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre with access to scholarships, housing, and other measures that will rebuild generational wealth.
The Trust is also charged with making key investments in the Historic Greenwood District to reclaim the potential robbed from Black Wall Street by the Massacre.
104 years later, two living victims of the massacre saw their government commit to finally repairing, not just acknowledging, the damage done.
