Hi John,

I have good news and bad news from the Capitol. And I need your help. [[link removed]]

The Oregon Senate Rules Committee held a vote this afternoon on SB 1003, the radical assisted suicide bill.

The good news: Your emails, phone calls, and testimonies truly made an impact. Even a Democrat senator emphasized the contacts he received from constituents who expressed concern about the bill.

The bad news: Despite the hundreds of powerful testimonies from physicians, mental health professionals, and everyday Oregonians like you who have spoken out strongly against this deadly bill, the committee voted to move it forward in a 3-2 party line vote.

ACT NOW: HELP US DEFEAT SB 1003 [[link removed]]

Let me be clear: We can’t let this bill become law.

SB 1003 would make it easier than ever for practitioners in Oregon to facilitate assisted suicide for medically vulnerable people from Oregon and all across the country.

So, what’s next? SB 1003 is headed to yet another committee. Our team is preparing to flood every committee member’s office with calls, emails, and the crucial facts about this assisted suicide expansion they can’t ignore.

But these urgent efforts cost money.

We're aiming to raise $10,000 in the next week to fund our statewide surge to stop SB 1003.

John, I know it can be easy to feel like pro-life voices won’t get a fair hearing in Oregon. But please, don’t be discouraged.

We’ve stopped similar bills before — as recently as 2019 and 2023, pro-life Oregonians took action and we successfully stopped the expansion of assisted suicide.

It wasn’t easy, but we did it. And we can do it again.

Thank you for taking quick action to protect the most vulnerable.

Together, we can ensure that every senator hears and understands that Oregonians want a culture and a medical system that provides real care and support for patients, not legalized death on demand.

Because everyone deserves an advocate,

Sharolyn Smith
