Can you believe this????
At a town hall in Iowa, GOP Senator Joni Ernst responded to her constituents’ concerns about cuts to Medicaid in Trump and GOP’s budget bill by saying, “Well, we’re all going to die.”
The current bill would kick 8.6 million people off their health care, primarily via attacks on Medicaid, plus another 5.1 million by not renewing support for ACA premiums that will expire this year. That’s 13.7 million Americans in danger of losing their health care coverage — and they deserve better than being told that “we’re all going to die.”
Let’s be clear: this isn’t about fiscal responsibility. Republicans are cutting Medicaid, SNAP and stripping away health care to hand out more tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy.
The more public opposition, the greater the chance that Republicans from non-deep-red districts and states will want to avoid voting for the bill — because they will know it could cost them their jobs.
So friend, if you agree that Republicans’ budget is unacceptable, will you stand with us and show the GOP that the American people are watching by signing our petition today?
Thank you for taking action,
