Don’t tell this to my mom, but believe it or not, I’ve received an F on a report card before. But it didn’t come in history or math class growing up, or even in law school.

It came last year, when the NRA rightfully gave me an F after I led the effort to ban gun sales on California state property.

That’s the only F I’ve received in my entire life, and I couldn’t be more proud of it. If you’re proud of that failing grade too, will you donate today to help me keep fighting against the gun lobby in the halls of Congress?

There is no community in California or across the country that has not been impacted by the scourge of gun violence. And because of this, millions of parents, neighbors, and children are living in constant fear.

Today, the NRA desperately wants us to accept this fear as the new normal. They want us to believe that subjecting our children to mass shooting drills is normal, or that valuing guns over human lives is normal.

But it is not normal. And no matter how many empty thoughts and prayers MAGA Republicans offer, they will never make it the new normal.
