Supporting Our Third Congressional District Farmers
House Republicans passed the One Big Beautiful Bill with key investments that support our farmers. The 2018 Farm Bill is a five-year authorization that has been extended for an additional two years. These policies are outdated and fall short of meeting the current needs of our agriculture community. If you talk to Mississippi’s farmers, you’ll quickly learn that they are experiencing the worst economic downturn since the 1980s farm crisis. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act addresses some of the deficiencies in farm policy with the inclusion of strategic investments within standing programs contained in Title I of the farm bill, and in crop insurance. These measures will support farmers during challenging economic times and reduce the need for unbudgeted aid.
Meeting with Mississippi Farmers to Discuss Agriculture and Its Impact on Our State
Thank you to Mississippi Farm Bureau President Mike McCormick, Mississippi State Representatives Bill Pigott and Vince Mangold, as well as Mississippi State Senators Neil Whaley and Andy Berry, for stopping by my D.C. office to discuss agriculture and its impact on our state. With over 31,000 farms, agriculture continues to be Mississippi’s leading industry.

Making the Trump Tax Cuts Permanent
I am working alongside House Republicans to ensure that we make the Trump Tax Cuts Permanent. These tax cuts have saved Mississippians thousands of dollars each year. Check out this link and see below to see the impact on Mississippians if the Trump Tax Cuts are NOT extended.
