Dear John,
On Tuesday morning, we showed up at Los Angeles City Hall to say in one voice: DON’T SIGN the misleading petition, and don’t let the CEOs steal money out of the pockets of hard-working LA families.
Just two weeks ago we won an “Olympic Wage” when City Hall passed an ordinance to keep tourism workers healthy and housed by raising wages to $30 by the 2028 Olympics along with access to family health care. We fought alongside the workers who keep the Los Angeles tourism industry running and a broad community coalition for over two years to secure this historic victory.
But now, greedy CEOs and their billion-dollar corporations are spending millions of dollars in an effort to make sure that people who are barely getting by in LA don’t get a raise. Last Friday, a group of companies, with major funding from United Airlines, Delta, and the American Hotel & Lodging Association, began circulating a petition in our communities to overturn the living wage.
HERE’S HOW YOU CAN HELP:
* If someone approaches you to sign a petition, DON’T SIGN.
