I’m thrilled to share some exciting news from the Indiana Statehouse. Last week, Republican lawmakers passed a transformative $44 billion state budget that reflects our commitment to conservative values and responsible governance.

The budget includes:

• An expansion of school choice, allowing more families to access quality education options that best suit their children's needs.
• Implementing measures to ensure fiscal responsibility, such as addressing a $2 billion revenue shortfall through strategic spending cuts and a $2 per pack increase in cigarette taxes, which will generate approximately $800 million over the biennium to support Medicaid programs.
