A coalition of Democrats introduced the Supreme Court Tenure Establishment and Retirement Modernization (TERM) Act last week. This bill would set 18-year active service terms for Supreme Court justices and limit nominations to two per presidential term.
Fascists like Donald Trump would no longer get to appoint THREE justices to serve unchecked for lifelong terms – allowing them to rip away our progress and rights long after Trump is no longer in office.
Our courts are in crisis, having been weaponized by the far-right to upend our Constitution and serve their agenda. The TERM Act is the bold change we need to restore accountability to the Court, ensuring no single president can rig it for a generation.
