No Kings Day is in less than two weeks, and with more than 1,400 protests planned so far, this is shaping up to be the biggest day of protest in years. But we won’t measure that by how many events we have on a map -- we’ll measure it by how many people show up in the streets.
We need to get the word out about these protests everywhere we can. We’re already doing that with press strategies to get No Kings covered in the news, getting the word out on social media, and supporting groups with email recruitment and trainings on how to promote their local events.
But we know that to get millions of people into the streets, we need to reach folks who aren’t already part of the movement. With two weeks to go, we’re looking to utilize new promotional tactics and attention-grabbing guerrilla marketing. That includes:

Projecting art on buildings and symbolic backdrops |

Increasing our digital promotion and working with trusted influencers to get the word out on social media |

A 1.1 million-person texting campaign to recruit attendees at scale |

We know there are millions of people who oppose Trump and his authoritarian politics who would be willing to show up to a protest -- if they knew one was happening. But they might not be plugged into local organizing, or have friends who are. Our new promotional tactics are about reaching these folks and ensuring they get the invite to June 14.
Whether it’s through our digital promotion and texting or guerilla tactics that people see in real life as they head into work/school/the grocery store or on social media -- we want to make sure we get the word out to as many people as possible.
