Politicians who refuse to combat gun violence have wasted too much time, John, so I’m going to cut right to the chase:
As a survivor of the Sandy Hook School shooting, I’m asking you personally to donate to Teachers Unify. They're doing the real work of fighting for change and making sure nobody else has to live the trauma we do.
But they can’t do it alone – they need support from people like you to hold back the gun lobby. So please, rush whatever you can now to support their work.
The Sandy Hook School shooting was my first experience with gun violence – but not my last, as politicians and leaders have failed to do anything to end this epidemic.
Honestly, all this inaction has made me numb. I know I should feel more when another shooting is in the news. But I just don’t trust anybody in office to step up and make the change we need to save lives.
That’s why I’m writing to you today. Just like I did as her student, I still trust Ms. Clements today to fight for a real end to gun violence.
I’ve rallied alongside Teachers Unify, and I’ve seen how much educators are accomplishing as a united front. But I’ve also seen how hard it is to go up against the gun lobby and the NRA.
These are teachers, not professional fundraisers, John. They need each of us to step up with what we can and fund the future we believe in.
So right now, John, before any more time is wasted: Will you please rush whatever you can to help this movement of educators fight for the change it seems like no one else will?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
Thank you so much,
Ashley
