When I was 14, I started working at Zinn’s Bakery in Southeast
Albuquerque.
It was the first time I felt what it meant to be part of a small business.
I still remember the smell of fresh bread and pastries in the early
morning, and how Mr. Zinn took the time to teach me — not just how to
decorate cakes, but how to serve people with care.
We woke up early.
We put care into each cake.
We learned kids’ birthdays.
We delivered on time.
We thanked our customers, and we meant it.
Years later, when I started my own salsa company, I did the same. I knew
how to work hard. And there were times when I would still barely scrape
by.
On the campaign trail, I’ve met with small business owners and working
families all across New Mexico who are doing everything right — and still
struggling to hold it all together.
I’m running for governor because it shouldn’t be this hard to open a
business, pay the bills, or keep a roof over your head. That’s why, as New
Mexico’s next Governor, I will:
1. Protect our small businesses from federal chaos. When Trump and
Republicans cut programs that small businesses count on, New Mexico
will step up to keep our local economy strong.
2. Double down on the progress New Mexico has made on site readiness.
We’ll build on recent wins to ensure businesses have sites that are
move-in ready with utilities and infrastructure already in place.
3. Bring new industries home. From clean energy to tech to film, we’ll
invest in sectors that create good-paying jobs and strengthen our
small business economy.
This is a preview of my economic plan, and there’s more to come.
Building a future where every New Mexican can thrive takes all of us. This
campaign isn’t backed by billionaires. It’s powered by people like you,
who believe that hard work should be enough to live a good life.
