But more than anything, what stood out was the resilience of Kansans. The Kansas way isn’t just a saying, it is a way of life.
The most shocking part of it all was the fact that Gov. Kelly and her administration have failed their fellow Kansans.
In what I’m sure is no surprise to many, Gov. Kelly and her administration cronies have yet to visit, or declare a State of Emergency to open up doors for their neighbors.
Once an emergency has been declared by the Governor, those who found themselves in the path of the massive wedge tornado would have immediate access to much needed assistance.
This is why Gov. Colyer, joined by State Senator Michael Murphy and State Representatives Kyle Hoffman, Kevin Schwertfeger, Joe Seiwert, Brett Fairchild, Jim Minnix, and Samantha Parshall have called on Gov. Kelly to visit these communities, see the destruction first hand, and finally show a little leadership by granting the requests already submitted by the counties by declaring a state of emergency.
