Dear John,
Just a few short months ago, it would’ve been hard to imagine an America where pastors were told by the government that they were not allowed to gather with their churches for worship.
Such hostility to religion seems unthinkable in a nation founded on the guarantee of religious freedom.
But the enemies of faith in our government are determined to undermine these sacred rights, using phrases like “the new normal” to justify outrageous acts of overreach and discrimination.
Just ask Pastor Micheal Spencer, of His Tabernacle Family Church in upstate New York.
His members simply wanted to gather in the church parking lot for “drive-in” worship services, as many other churches across the nation had done—adhering to all the proper CDC guidelines.
However, local county officials decided that even these carefully planned precautionary measures were not good enough, and cancelled all drive-in church services in the county—even though other drive-thru businesses in the area were still allowed to operate!
Faced with such blatant discrimination, Pastor Spencer made First Liberty his first call for help.
And within days, we delivered victory for not only Pastor Spencer’s church—but every single house of worship in the county seeking to hold drive-in worship services!
As Pastor Spencer puts it:
“I was just blown away by the ministry of First Liberty, and what they do to build and help churches. They were so quick, and what I loved is that it wasn’t just a job—their whole mission was about how they could help us fulfill God’s purpose, and they went right to work.”
Unfortunately—even though we were able to gain victory for his church and others in New York—stories of discrimination like Pastor Spencer’s are becoming all too common.
Churches and houses of worship are undergoing a barrage of attacks like I’ve never seen before in our nation.
If left unaddressed, I truly believe we are on a road to tyranny that threatens to rip apart the very fabric of our country—the essential foundation of freedom that has defined America since its inception.
And it’s up to people of faith like you and I to stop this backslide.
Will you go All-In with us today to overcome the All-Out assault on our faith and freedom?
Because when we stand up for our constitutional rights together, and fight to protect them—we win.
Our victory for Pastor Spencer’s church is just one of several victories in New York during this “crisis” period. And that’s on top of wins in Mississippi, Kentucky, Texas...and the list goes on.
But to continue being the “best hope for victory” for churches and people of faith across the county, we need your financial support.
We are receiving more calls than ever from pastors just like Micheal Spencer in urgent need of protection from hostile government overreach. And because we will never charge these pastors a single dime in legal fees, we can only serve as many as our resources allow.
Your generous gift today will enable us to stay on the frontlines, fighting and winning for America’s faith communities throughout the rest of 2020.
To quote Pastor Spencer once more: “I cannot thank First Liberty enough, and I challenge you—sow into this ministry. It will help build and strengthen the kingdom.”
Pastor Spencer couldn’t have won victory without you. Will you be there for the next pastor in need of protection?
Gratefully, Kelly
