Entering Exhibits into the Fair 101

Do you raise animals, have a love of photography or maybe have become quite the home beverage crafter? Well did you know YOU can enter your item into fair as an exhibit? Here is a brief Entering Your Project 101!

Let's start with the lingo.

*Open Class*-Open to any person that would like to have their project judged at fair. You do not have to be part of FFA or 4H. 

*Project* -The item you are entering that fits within a Department or category. Examples: Cookies, cross-stitch, black and white photo.

*Department*-The category that you enter your project in. Example: Baking, Needle Arts, Photography.

*Exhibitor Handbook*- A book that contains all the information about how and when to enter your projects into the fair. It contains the rules, awards, premiums, entry codes to enter online and so much more!

*Class Codes* - The codes located in the Exhibitor Handbooks to determine the class within the Department. Example: Department = Baking, Class Code= Cookies.

*Premiums - *A monetary award for those entries that qualify. 

*Release Date: *When your entries need to be picked up after fair.

*Now it's time to enter your Project!*


* Choose what project you are going to enter. You can use the Exhibitor Handbook to get ideas of all of the possibilities. 
* Start working on your project.
* Enter your project online. 
* Use the Exhibitor Handbook of the Department your project is in.
* Note the Department Schedule (after the Mission/Vision page) for when you need to drop off your entries, when they will be judged and release date. 
* Look up the class code.
* Enter Online. 

* Finish your project.
* Bring your project to the Evergreen State Fair Park on date and location noted in the Exhibitor Handbook. Now is a great time to buy discounted Advance Gate Admission. Click here for more details! [ [link removed] ]
* Come to fair, bring your friends and brag about your ribbons that you were awarded. 
* Pick up your item on the release date and location noted in the Exhibitor Handbook. 
* Think about what you can enter for the next year.
