Friend,

Los Angeles’ hospitality workers won a huge victory when the City Council
passed the Olympic Wage Ordinance, which will raise the minimum wage for
tourism-related workers to $30 an hour by the time we host the Olympics.

Now billion-dollar corporations are trying to trick voters into
overturning this hard-fought living wage.

A coalition of companies, including Delta, United Airlines, and Marriott,
is funding a campaign to collect 93,000 voter signatures on a misleading
petition in order to call a special election and overturn the Olympic Wage
Ordinance.

These companies would rather spend millions of dollars to overturn the
will of the people than pay their employees a living wage. That’s why we
need to get the word out RIGHT NOW to stop anyone from signing this
petition!

We’ve joined with Unite Here Local 11, the union that spearheaded the $30
Olympics wage effort, to spread the word about the underhanded attempt to
reverse the L.A. Council’s decision, and you can play an important part.
