Friend -- First Wisconsin, then Ohio, and just last week, Georgia. How many more botched elections do politicians need to see before they take action to protect our votes?
All three states have faced rampant voter suppression, from closed polling locations to a failure to deliver absentee ballots to voters in a timely fashion. And some elected leaders don't seem to care. In fact, some love it. It's how they remain in power.
Just last week, Ohio legislators adjourned their legislative session and walked away from a bill that would have made voting more safe, fair, and accessible. While in Iowa, another battleground state, some legislators are looking to roll back absentee voting in November after seeing record levels of turnout and mail-in voting for their primary election.
We've been tracking good bills and bad that aim to reform electoral processes. Arizona, North Carolina, and Ohio are all states where we've put advocacy tools into the hands of voters to hold their elected officials accountable, but this work takes resources.
Can we count on you to chip in $15 or whatever you can so we can ramp up our election protection efforts and protect our democracy?

It's no secret: the holdup on election protection legislation is, in part, because of gerrymandered legislatures. These map manipulators take joy in gatekeeping election protection efforts to remain unaccountable to the public. Here's the good news: you have the power to stop them.
The road to securing our elections will be a difficult battle. But together, we're going to stop voter suppression, end map manipulation, and return our democracy to the people.
Thanks for being a part of this,
-- The AOTL Team
