We know that LGBTQIA+ rights and freedoms are intertwined with gun safety. Queer and trans folks are 2x more likely to be shot. That’s unacceptable.
The LGBTQIA+ community deserves to live without fear of violence.
Now more than ever we need to fight for the LGBTQIA+ community as Trump and his far-right administration attack LGBTQIA+ rights.
Every day we’re seeing extremist laws across the country that threaten queer and trans people — everything from healthcare restrictions, bans on drag performances, bans on inclusive and important literature, and attacks on trans people’s rights to live freely.
This Pride Month is a time for action.
We know we won’t be free from gun violence until we’re ALL free from gun violence. And that includes vulnerable people like the LGBTQIA+ community who are disproportionately affected by gun violence.
At March For Our Lives, we will continue to uplift queer voices, mobilize youth across the country, and build our future one step at a time until all people live in a world free of gun violence.
