Dear Friend --
All Long Beach residents can now receive COVID-19 testing,
regardless of symptoms, at three City-operated testing sites. While
testing for non-symptomatic residents has been available, we are
expanding the number of locations.
Appointment availability will continue to be prioritized for those
who are exhibiting symptoms, individuals who are 65 years old or older
and those with underlying health conditions.
Widespread testing, along with robust contact tracing, is an
important tool in our fight against COVID-19. Everyone in Long Beach
who wants to be tested for coronavirus should feel free to sign up for
an appointment at any one of the City-operated testing
locations.
Also, effective June 16, Long Beach has new hours for some
test sites (sites with testing for asymptomatic Long Beach residents
are marked with an asterisk).
Three test sites have new hours effective today, June 16, as
follows:
- *Cabrillo High School (2001 Santa Fe Avenue), 10 a.m. to 1
p.m., Mondays through Wednesdays
- *Jordan High School (6500 Atlantic Avenue), 3 p.m. to 5
p.m., Thursdays through Sundays
- *Veterans Memorial Stadium (5000 E. Lew Davis Street), 3
p.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays
Hours are unchanged at the following sites:
- Drive-through testing at Long Beach City College, Pacific
Coast Campus (1305 Pacific Coast Highway), from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.,
seven days a week
- The Rapid Assessment Clinic at LBCC, Pacific Coast Campus,
10 a.m. to 2 p.m., seven days a week
- Jordan Plus (171 W. Bort Street), 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.,
weekdays
St. Mary Medical Center (1050 Linden Avenue) will operate
from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. until Thursday, June 18, its
final day of operation as a testing site.
Mobile testing continues to be available for those who cannot
leave their residences for various reasons (such as mobility issues or
underlying health conditions). Mobile testing can be done at
residences or facilities such as sober living homes, skilled nursing
facilities, and other congregate facilities. To request mobile
testing, complete the form available here
or call the Public Health Info Line at (562) 570-4636 (8:00 a.m. to
5:00 p.m.). Testing is available Monday through Friday.
Appointments are required for all testing sites and can be
made online
or by calling 562.570.INFO (4636).
Testing for City residents without symptoms first
began May 28 at one testing site (Cabrillo High
School).
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the City has
administered more than 54,000 tests and have increased testing
capacity to be able to test more than 1,000 people per
day.
Thank you,
