John,
Over the past 30 years, I’ve grown to love Northern New York’s natural beauty. We cherish the clean air and water we have access to here in Canton.
Unfortunately, valuing nature and the environment isn’t a value Stefanik and the GOP leaders in Washington share. As our natural world continually accelerates towards chaos related to the impacts of climate change, they have responded by rolling back environmental protections.
It’s utterly irresponsible and, if continued, potentially irreversible.
We have to act.
My husband and I have invested in solar panels and are making adjustments to our lifestyles and our home to become more sustainable and reduce our carbon footprint. Many around this community have as well, and that brings me tremendous hope for the future of Northern New York and our world at large.
However, we must open our collective eyes to the realities of climate change. The problems related to our planet overheating due to man-made pollution grow with each passing year of inaction. We need solutions.
The time for rhetoric is over, and the time for retreating into our corners and bickering has passed.
I’m running for Congress because we have to step up. If elected, I’d be willing to work with anyone to find solutions. That’s why I'm proud that the Sierra Club recently endorsed our campaign. We need leadership that understands the threats and is ready to buckle down and get to work.
If you agree, I hope you’ll consider pitching into my campaign today. We’re up against a critical FEC fundraising deadline at the end of the month, so there’s never been a more important time for everyone to step up and do what they can. Even $1 will help us win this race →
