John,
This Pride Month, we must do more than celebrate. We must recommit
ourselves to the task of achieving full equality for our LGBTQ+ friends,
neighbors, and family members — and to fighting back against Donald
Trump’s assault on the progress we’ve made.
Since Trump took office, he’s banned trans service members from the
military, banned pride flags from military bases and government offices,
and more. It’s an all-out assault on LGBTQ+ people across the country, and
it’s critical that we stand up and fight back.
Make no mistake: Donald Trump and his MAGA Republican allies want to roll
back all of the progress we’ve made in recent years so that gay and trans
people will disappear from public life. And they’re attempting to use the
law as a weapon to make that happen.
But I refuse to stand by and watch. I’ve signed on to H.R. 15, the
Equality Act of 2025, and we need to make sure that Republicans feel the
pressure to give this bill a vote.
