LGBTQ+ Americans have contributed so much to our nation, and Pride Month is a time to honor and celebrate those contributions.

It’s also a time to recognize the painful history of discrimination that LGBTQ+ people have faced – and acknowledge that the fight for equality is far from over.

Since Trump took office, he and his far-right administration have been gutting protections for LGBTQ+ Americans. And we need to stand up against his dangerous attacks.

As a member of the Congressional Equality Caucus, I’m dedicated to defending LGBTQ+ rights. I was an original cosponsor of the Equality Act – a bill that would expand protections for discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity.
