As your Congressman, I support the Americans peacefully protesting to bring change to our country to reform our criminal justice system, empower racial justice, and fix systemic issues in our nation.
I am committed to working with members of the Black community, law enforcement, and community organizations to support legislation in Washington that addresses racial injustice and keeps our communities safe.
That's why I am proud to join with my colleagues in the House to support the Justice in Policing Act that will:
- End the use of chokeholds
- Establish a National Police Misconduct Registry
- Demilitarize local police departments
- Ban no-knock warrants for drug-related offenses
- Create flexibility in the standard for prosecuting violent officers
But I need your help to build the broad support we need to get this critical bill reforming our criminal justice system passed through Congress!
