This is a time of tremendous crisis for our nation.

Across the country, Americans are flooding the streets protesting the injustice of police brutality and affirming the unshakable truth that Black Lives Matter.

As the fight for social, racial and economic justice continues, we are fighting to stem the tide of the coronavirus outbreak -- a global pandemic that has taken over 100,000 American lives.

America is crying out for leadership. But every day, Donald Trump and his corrupt cronies launch new assaults on civil rights, human dignity, and basic common sense.

We have a chance to kick Donald Trump out of office in November -- but it's going to take a grassroots movement. Can you split a contribution of $2 or whatever you can to support Joe Biden and Warren Democrats, help defeat Trump, and elect Democrats up and down the ballot?

Five years ago today, Trump came gliding down that escalator in Trump Tower to announce his campaign and every day since he's proven that he cares about one thing and one thing only: Donald Trump.

There's a reason for that.

While growing up in a huge mansion, by the time he was three he was getting a $200,000 a year allowance from his father's real estate empire. In total, he got nearly half a billion dollars from his daddy's empire.

He then spent most of his career running his companies into bankruptcy, stiffing small businesses and hurting his workers before turning to reality TV.

And, by the way, Donald Trump is a misogynist, a man who has spent a big part of his life demeaning and trying to take advantage of women.

Here's why that matters. Your life experience shapes your vision and your values. Donald Trump's life taught him to value only one thing -- himself.

So it is no wonder that his agenda and every action he takes is rooted in stroking his ego. He grows more cruel and heartless by the day, with no accountability to the people he swore to serve.

But we are not without hope: in just four and a half months, we have the chance to elect a man who will restore the soul of this nation, Joe Biden.

Joe grew up on the ragged edge of the middle class in Scranton. He committed to public service early in life and never stopped serving. He's faced unspeakable tragedy with fortitude and grace. And these experiences animate him and the empathy he extends to Americans who are struggling -- no matter what their story.

After spending nearly his entire life in public service, he knows that a government run with integrity, competence, and compassion will save lives and save livelihoods.

Joe Biden has a heart for people. And at a time when Donald Trump's agenda grows more cruel and heartless by the day, we need a man in the White House who has spent his entire life fighting for people. We need a president who knows that no citizen is above the law. We need steady and competent leadership.

This is a moment of crisis, but I wake up every morning with a heart full of optimism because I believe that this November, not only are we going to elect Joe Biden but we are going to elect Democrats up and down the ballot, hold the House, take back the Senate, and begin making big, structural change in January 2021.

It's going to take a lot of hard work and resources to make that happen.

So if it makes sense for you right now, can you split a donation between Joe Biden's campaign and Warren Democrats? We need Joe to be the next president of the United States to heal this nation and save our democracy.
