Trump shares baseless conspiracy that Joe Biden died and was replaced by a clone
The MAGA cult leader has embraced a lot of truly preposterous conspiracy theories over the years, but his latest zinger almost certainly takes the crazy cake. The commander-in-chief took time out of his obviously very busy schedule to boost one intrepid supporter's super hot take: Joe Biden was executed in 2020 and replaced by "clones doubles & robotic engineered soulless mindless entities" — unbeknownst to Democrats, of course. Uh, okay. Super normal stuff from our super normal president.

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Visibly uncomfortable Elon squirms over simple interview question
Elon Musk, the man who spent a quarter billion dollars bankrolling Donald Trump back into power and subsequently fired hundreds of thousands of federal employees during his incredibly chaotic and destructive DOGE crusade, doesn't want to talk "presidential policy," thank you very much. Now that he's officially exited the White House, the world's most infamous ketamine enthusiast would much prefer journalists stick to the subject of the day, which, according to Elon, "is, like, spaceships." Noted.

Let's make history this Pride Month and elect the first openly gay man to the Senate!
Chris Pappas for Senate: Now that Senator Shaheen is retiring, Chris Pappas is aiming to make history by becoming the first openly gay man elected to the U.S. Senate and keep a vitally important Senate seat in Democratic hands. Rep. Chris Pappas has served New Hampshire for 20 years and has a proven track record of taking on the big fights– from battling Big Pharma to lowering drug prices to facing off with predatory companies that target veterans — while winning election after election in one of the swingiest districts in the country. If we're to have any chance of derailing Trump's appalling agenda of cruelty, chaos, and corruption, we need to retake the Senate, we need to protect this must-win seat from whichever MAGA extremist tries to snatch it away. Will you help jump-start Chris Pappas' campaign with a donation?
White House insists Trump tariffs to stay despite court ruling
Donald Trump's top economic advisers have said they would not be deterred by a court ruling that declared many of the administration's tariffs illegal and insisted their chaotic, economy-killing crusade to wage a multi-front trade war would continue undeterred. "Rest assured, tariffs are not going away," Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said on Fox News Sunday, assuring exactly no one.

Suspect charged with multiple felonies in flamethrower attack on Colorado rally for Israeli hostages
A man has been charged with multiple felonies after he allegedly used a makeshift flamethrower and incendiary devices to attack a crowd of people who were raising awareness for Israeli hostages in Gaza, injuring eight. Mohamed Sabry Soliman, 45, is alleged to have shouted "Free Palestine" as he attacked the crowd on Sunday, in what the FBI is treating as an "act of terrorism." Officials said there was no indication that the attack was associated with any group. NBC reported Soliman was an Egyptian national, and the White House claimed Soliman was in the US without legal status. Four women and four men between 52 and 88 years old were transported to hospitals, Boulder police said, with injuries ranging from minor to "very serious."

Huge road repair bill predicted in DC for Trump’s military birthday parade
The MAGA cult leader's long-pined-for and incredibly wasteful military parade celebrating the 250th anniversary of the US Army is set to take place on Saturday, June 14, which also just happens to be Donald's 79th birthday — obviously, totally a coincidence and in no way a deeply irresponsible, authoritarian send-up for the wannabe dictator. US military officials have openly admitted that sending heavy tanks down local streets in Washington, DC, could cause extensive damage and require as much as $16 million in repairs. Then there's the months of disruption and traffic congestion all those repairs will inevitably cause. Officials estimate the total cost of Trump's parade will reach $45 million. It's really nice to have "fiscally responsible" Republicans back in charge making sure we aren't wasting taxpayers' dollars on frivolous pet projects that provide exactly zero public benefit, eh?
After talks with Zelenskyy and Macron, US senators warn: Putin "is preparing for more war"
Russian President Vladimir Putin is stalling at the peace table while preparing a new military offensive in Ukraine, two senior US senators warned Sunday, arguing that the next two weeks could shape the future of a war that has already smashed cities, displaced millions, and redrawn Europe’s security map. Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham and Democratic Sen. Richard Blumenthal spoke to The Associated Press in Paris after meeting President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and touring neighborhoods shattered by what they called the worst Russian bombardments since the full-scale invasion began. In Paris for talks with French President Emmanuel Macron — who they say is “100% aligned” with them on the war — the senators warned the window to prevent a renewed assault by the Russian dictator is closing.
New England Patriots prompt right-wing freak-out with run-of-the-mill Pride post
Pride Month is here, folks! Bring on corporate America's anodyne declarations of inclusiveness and the apoplectic backlash from a virulently intolerant army of right-wing mouthbreathers with nothing better to do than spit vitriol at others for daring to be themselves. It is so good to be great again!
MIT bans class president from graduation commencement after pro-Palestinian speech
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology banned the 2025 class president from Friday's graduation commencement ceremony after she delivered a pro-Palestinian speech at an event the day before. The university said in a statement without naming the student that the woman delivered a speech at Thursday's OneMIT commencement ceremony that was not the one she provided in advance. "While that individual had a scheduled role at today’s Undergraduate Degree Ceremony, she was notified that she would not be permitted at today’s events," said university spokesperson Kimberly Allen. "MIT supports free expression but stands by its decision, which was in response to the individual deliberately and repeatedly misleading Commencement organizers and leading a protest from the stage, disrupting an important Institute ceremony."
ICE agents posed as utility workers to attempt arrest of undocumented man
Every day, it's a new low for Donald Trump's secret police. This time, ICE agents pretended to be from Tucson Electric Power, a local utility company, lying to an undocumented man's stepson in order to gain access to their home without a warrant. Luckily, a neighbor intervened and warned the man, who has lived in the city for a decade. When asked for comment, an ICE spokeswoman, Yasmeen Pitts O'Keefe, told The Tucson Star twice via email that if she were in the reporter’s position, "I’d be very careful with the TEP storyline" — an obvious attempt to intimidate the media by a fascistic band of thugs on a department-wide power trip.
