John, this is Jocelyn Benson.

Michigan House Republicans voted to hold me in contempt for refusing to give them access to sensitive information that could undermine the security of our elections.

The truth is that we’ve already given them thousands of documents. They want documents with details that could allow bad actors to tamper with voting machines or impersonate clerks.

Let me be clear: This is no way to govern.

Every day that House Republicans spend time playing political games like this — while the people of Michigan are struggling to pay for housing, child care, and basic needs — is an affront to the people they’re elected to serve.

We need to put people over politics. Progress over partisanship.

I’m tired of the cruelty and chaos in politics, and I’m running for governor to be a leader who rises above this.

Help me and Blue Amp Action fight back. Pitch in today to my campaign and Blue Amp Action to send a signal to these Michigan House Republicans that we won’t back down, and that you’re with us.

These House Republicans’ dangerous rhetoric will further inspire violence and conspiracies around our elections, harming the hardworking state and local election officials who are just doing their jobs.

I will always fight for safe and secure elections, even in the face of these partisan attacks.
