Dear Neighbors and Friends, 

I'm thrilled to announce the launch of a brand new "Open Gym for Girls" program right here in our community! This initiative is all about creating a safe and welcoming space for girls of all backgrounds, especially Muslim girls and youth of color, to get active and enjoy sports. The Open Gym welcomes girls of all ages and experience levels.

My office has partnered with Jamad Basketball Camps and Saint Paul Parks and Recreation to bring this program to life. Starting Thursday, June 5th, 2025, girls can join us every Thursday from 6 PM to 8 PM at the North End Community Center. 

I'm really looking forward to welcoming Jamad to our district. She's not only an extremely talented basketball player but also a thoughtful leader who deeply believes that representation matters. I know her internationally known positive personality will be a wonderful asset to our community.
