As we welcome June, we're shining a light on getting involved, getting out and making a difference. We’re expanding our understanding of Parkinson’s – from lesser-known forms of the condition to the benefits of complementary therapies. Each story reflects the dedication and strength of our community and the change we're making together.

Upcoming webinar

While navigating a life with Parkinson’s, the challenges of distinguishing false promises of cures and exaggerated claims from reliable information can be daunting. With media, hyped-up stories are often used to attract readers and advertisers but sadly, these tactics can financially drain or harm the health of the once-hopeful. However, there are ‘red flags’ that everyone should be aware of to help detect false or misleading medical claims.

Join our webinar on Wednesday, June 18 from 2 to 3 p.m. ET as movement disorders neurologist and author, Dr. Benzi Kluger, joins us to share tips to help us sort through the myriad of Parkinson’s information coming our way every day and separate fact from fiction. .

Julie Cafley Poulin’s husband, Luc, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s at just 37 years old. In the face of fear and uncertainty, their family chose to stay active, hopeful, and united. Now, more than two decades later, with their two sons Zach and Théo, they continue to face Parkinson’s with strength and purpose. To ensure others have the same support they received, Julie and Luc made the decision to include Parkinson Canada in Luc’s Will—helping to drive innovative research and provide care for generations to come.

Their story is a powerful reminder of how we can all make a difference. If you’re inspired, we invite you to take a few moments to complete our short, confidential survey. You’ll also have the opportunity to request a free Will Planning Guide to help you get started.
