I’m grateful to the People’s Congregational United Church of Christ in Washington, D.C. for inviting me into their pulpit this morning. I preached from my own tradition and to the Christian congregation that hosted me, but I was also aware of the nation’s need for a message of hope and clarity as we face a crisis of civilization.
Four lepers from the history of ancient Israel have given me courage in these days. I’m writing to share their story with you and invite you to share it with anyone you know who may need it.
Moral Mondays are back in D.C. tomorrow.
If you are able to join us in person, please register here for details [ [link removed] ].
If you aren’t able to get to Capitol Hill, you can join us by livestream [ [link removed] ] here at 11am.
We will gather together outside the US Capitol to hear from people who rely on Medicaid and have decided they are not willing to just stay home and die. Then we will accompany them to the Capitol rotunda and send a delegation to the Senate office buildings to hand-deliver a request for Senate leadership to pray with us before they vote on this bill.
Moral Mondays in DC has partnered with Faithful America to create a petition that allows you to send this request directly to your Senators [ [link removed] ].
