The One Big Beautiful Bill Act
House Republicans made history by passing the 'One, Big, Beautiful Bill' budget reconciliation package this past month. This bold legislation will help build an economy that uplifts all Americans, secure our border, and put the safety and prosperity of this country first. It preserves and expands tax cuts, enacts pro-growth policies that allow businesses to thrive, helps children and young families take part in the American Dream, averts drastic Medicare reimbursement cuts, and so much more. Further, it delivers on President Trump’s agenda while limiting the growth of our fiscal deficit.
This bill is the product of a united and diverse Republican Conference that is committed to putting the American people and our country first. As the Senate considers this package, I urge it to uphold the meaningful spending cuts we made to promote fiscal responsibility.
S.J. Res. 13 & S.J. Res. 31
Congress reversed two more of the Biden Administration’s harmful policies that put hardworking Americans and our nation’s competitiveness on the back burner.
House Republicans remain steadfast in our work to restore consumer choice and unleash American energy independence.

Introduced Legislation to Ban DEI in Medical Schools
American medical schools are the best in the world and should remain free from discrimination, politicization, and acceptance of anything other than excellence. My EDUCATE Act would ban race-based mandates at medical schools, protect the First Amendment and civil rights of students, and promote objective, science-based medicine.
Excluding individuals based on appearance or beliefs in the name of diversity is wrong and debases the integrity of the medical profession. Doctors must be taught to treat all patients with the highest quality of care, regardless of who they are. This includes dealing with other medical professionals who may not look like they do. I have dedicated my life to serving others as a physician and will not stand for discrimination in our nation’s institutions of medicine.

Legislation to Correct North Topsail CBRA Error Considered in Committee
I am grateful that my bill, H.R. 1885, Town of North Topsail Beach Coastal Barrier Resources System Map Amendment Act of 2025, is being considered by the House Committee on Natural Resources.
43 years ago, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service wrongly classified the north end of Topsail Beach as undeveloped, making it part of the Coastal Barrier Resources System. Due to this error, and under the implications of the Coastal Barrier Resources Act (CBRA), homeowners have been unable to access vital federal programs such as the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), Veterans’ Administration loans, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers shore protection projects.
My bill corrects this decades-old mistake by removing the federal mapping error and reversing the CBRA designation, allowing residents to finally become eligible for necessary federal grants and aid.
I want to extend my appreciation to Mayor Pro Tempore Tom Leonard of North Topsail Beach for making the trip to Washington to testify, and for his decades of hard work on this issue. I also want to thank my friend and co-sponsor, Congressman David Rouzer, for his partnership in pushing this bill forward.
When the U.S. government makes a wrong, Congress must set it right. I am looking forward to it passing out of committee!
