We’re already a third of the way through the country, and the list is growing. So far, we’ve named over a dozen bigots, including:
Jay Webber in New Jersey, who voted against marriage equality and tried to bring back conversion therapy.
Sarah Jonas in Ohio, who’s been erasing queer students and censoring inclusive education from her seat on the school board.
Henry McClure in Kansas, a far-right conspiracy theorist now running for mayor in a city with a perfect LGBTQ+ equality score.
Jim Walsh in Washington, who calls LGBTQ+ protections “Marxist garbage” while pushing anti-trans bills.
And Steven Holt in Iowa, who gutted gender identity protections and led the charge on banning books and healthcare for trans youth.
Every one of these names belongs to someone actively working to undermine our rights. And every one of them can be beaten. That’s what makes 50-for-50 different—we’re not just tracking hate. We’re targeting it.
And we’re doing it all in the name of Pride.
This work is guided by the memory of what Pride has always been—a refusal to be silent—and by the energy of what it still must be: a movement to protect our people and unseat those who endanger them.
As we head into June, we’re doubling down. More targets. More research. More pressure. And soon, the coalitions that will help take them out.
PLEASE JOIN US! We need your support to help us prepare for November when we will take on our first round of incumbents at the ballot box in the general election. Will you chip in?
Thanks for being in this fight with us. Let’s make Pride something every elected bigot should be afraid of.
