I want to share some good news. Yesterday, the Supreme Court affirmed that LGBTQIA+ individuals are protected from discrimination on the job, and cannot be fired because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Discrimination is wrong, and no one should ever fear for their job simply because of who they are. That is good news, but our work is not done.

I join the LGBTQIA+ community in celebrating this landmark decision, and I stand in solidarity as we continue the fight for equal rights.

That means banning discrimination everywhere; not just in the workplace. I helped the House pass the Equality Act to do just that, and today I am asking the Senate to pass the legislation so LGBTQIA+ individuals are protected from discrimination in all areas of the law.

Thank you for standing with me,

Suzanne
