Our Buy an Acre supporters have played a crucial role in funding the work of our partner Fundación Hábitat y Desarrollo (FHD) at the Somuncurá Plateau Reserve in Argentina.

Now, thanks to Buy an Acre support and the hard work of FHD’s team, FHD have seen an amazing 15% increase in the population of the El Rincon Stream Frog (Pleurodema somuncurense). This Critically Endangered species is only found in the Valcheta Stream which runs through the rocky plains of the Plateau.

This species news is testament to FHD’s dedication and the true impact protecting land has on conservation.

We’re thrilled to be partnering with Environmental Defenders for a new Buy an Acre project to purchase and restore 838 hectares (2,070 acres) of land within Uganda’s Albertine Rift region.

This reserve expansion will deliver tangible impacts on the ground in Uganda and offer vital protection for precious and threatened species, like the African Savannah Elephant (Loxodonta africana) and all four species of African Pangolin.
