As we face one of the most challenging years for our nation, we could all use a moment of inspiration and light to help focus on what we can do to take action together -- and that action is voting.

I’m excited to share that When We All Vote is teaming up with The Roots for the 13th Annual Roots Picnic on Saturday, June 27th as a virtual experience. Hosted by The Roots and our very own Co-Chair Michelle Obama, the event will feature an all-star celebrity line-up, including performances by The Roots, H.E.R., Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch, SZA, Kirk Franklin, Snoh Aalegra, EarthGang, and more. Throughout the night there will be ONE call to action -- get registered to vote.

You’ll also hear from When We All Vote Co-Chairs Kerry Washington, Tracee Ellis Ross, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Chris Paul, Liza Koshy, Janelle Monáe, and Tom Hanks, and ambassador Elaine Welteroth on how to get registered and ready to vote during the event.

To change the culture around voting means we have to tap into iconic cultural events like The Roots Picnic, a showcase and celebration of today’s most influential artists.

These past few weeks have been hard for so many of us. Let’s come together for a celebration with some of our favorite musical artists as we dance, organize, and get ready to vote.
