Democrat,
After months of stay at home orders, shuttered businesses and overflowing hospitals, we’re finally seeing some glimmers of hope and getting back to the sense of normalcy we’re all craving. Yesterday Governor Murphy reopened restaurants across the state for outdoor dining, allowing residents to return to some of their local favorites and restaurants to begin getting back on their feet.
Allowing outdoor dining is a major step forward for our state along the Road Back from COVID-19. Along with restaurants resuming their operations, Governor Murphy has also lifted restrictions on non-essential retail stores, allowing many small mom and pop shops to open their doors. Daycare facilities have also reopened, a crucial step that will allow many parents to return to work confident that they have safe childcare options in place. On Monday, personal care businesses like barber shops, hair salons and more will be allowed to reopen with safety restrictions in place.
This isn’t the time to get complacent, and we all need to do our part to allow this monumental progress to continue. So make sure to wear a mask or face covering, practice social distancing, get tested if you were recently in a large crowd or feel that you should, and do what we all need to do to beat COVID-19 once and for all.
Thank you,
Chairman John Currie
