We need to protect investments in health and safety in California.

Friend,

At every level of government, we're facing stark budget choices -- especially whether we invest in the proven programs and services that keep us healthy and safe, or in militarizing police and criminalizing our most vulnerable communities.

Violent crime is down in California and has been steadily decreasing for years; the last thing we need is to jeopardize these gains by gutting the very safety net and public safety reforms that have made it possible. Join Courage California on Tuesday, June 3, at 6 pm PT on Zoom to learn how we can keep communities that are safer for all of us!

RSVP now for SAFETY FOR ALL: PROTECTING CALIFORNIA'S PROGRESS!

This week marked the 5th anniversary of the murder of George Floyd by police officer Derek Chauvin. Floyd’s death kicked off Black Lives Matter protests that prompted many communities to reevaluate their approach to policing, inspiring a momentous wave of needed reforms.

California was already at the forefront of changes, electing progressive leaders and passing laws to disrupt the cradle to prison pipeline, and investing in mental health awareness and victim, substance, and other social services that have successfully reduced recidivism and incarceration as a whole.

Now it's time to protect the investments that have protected us by keeping us healthy and safe, and reject the billionaire-funded efforts to take us back to mass incarceration.

We will be joined by District Attorney Diana Becton and partners from Vera California and Safe Return Project to discuss how we can fund proven solutions that work for all communities and stop the MAGA Murder Budget and state cuts to victim services and other social safety net support. This is a town hall you don’t want to miss!

RSVP now!

Thank you for being in the fight!

–Irene, along with Annie, Angela, Isidra, Cecilia, Jen, and Lindsay (the Courage team)
