When I announced my run for Congress to represent New York’s 8th district,
which includes diverse communities throughout Brooklyn and parts of Queens, I
said “Washington is broken. Congress is dysfunctional. People are suffering. We
deserve more.”

And, I can tell you this — our policies are better when our federal lawmakers
know what working people care about, what keeps them up at night, and are
willing to fight hard for the changes their communities deserve. I see that in
Gina.

Since winning the majority, House Democrats passed groundbreaking laws to
enforce campaign finance reform, protect and expand access to affordable
housing, and help struggling families during this health and economic crisis --
but we still have a long way to go.

That’s why I’m throwing my support behind Gina Ortiz Jones, one of the most
effective, unyielding advocates for justice running for Congress. We need her
fighting alongside us in Washington.But Gina needs our help. The GOP will do
