Hey John — I don’t want to interrupt your weekend, so I’ll keep this short. 

We’ve fought several battles during Trump’s first few months in office — from confirmation hearings for his extreme Cabinet nominees to his freeze on federal funding for programs like Head Start and Meals on Wheels. 

Whether we won or came up short, we’ve always approached those challenges together. Now, as we gear up for one of our most important fights yet, I’m counting on you to continue to stand with me. 

House Republicans just passed and sent their budget bill to the Senate, and to be blunt, we need to do whatever we can to defeat it. Their bill rips health care away from millions of Americans, cuts food assistance for hungry families, and so much more — all to pay for tax cuts for the richest Americans.

If we want to stop harmful legislation like this, we need to speak out and elect more people who stand up for access to health care and equal opportunity to Congress.
